A very happy New Year to you all!

Did you get engaged over the festive season? If so, a HUGE congratulations to you. As the festive season draws to a close, it might be time to start thinking about planning! Here are our hints and tips about how to get started if you just got engaged...

Think venue and date

It is so important to get your venue and date secured before you start thinking about anything else. Your venue decision is mainly going to be influenced by your guest numbers. So start to search those venues that can host your guest list!

Suitability to your preferred date is also vital; here at Woolverstone Hall we have great versatility within our one venue for you to choose from, and they all transform dramatically depending on the season!

We have the light, airy Orangery for your spring and summer celebrations, as well as the more traditional drawing rooms and panelled billiards room. All of these stunning spaces can be adapted to show off who you are as a couple; from classical elegance to a warm bohemian landscape. Just remember to pick a date that works for everyone that you hold near and dear. We host weddings all year round so we can always help you find your perfect date!

Recruit your wedding party

It’s time to get your wedding party in order, find your best pals and ask them to be a part of your special day. Having your wedding party sorted early on allows you to have a strong support system from the outset. They can be there to offer advice and opinions or even just be on hand to drink fizz to celebrate any planning milestone!

Send out the Save the Dates

Now that the wheels are in motion for your big day it's important your guests know that it’s happening! Send out your save the dates or jump straight to the official invitations if you’re having a shorter engagement. It is always nice to incorporate your colour scheme and theme into the invites to give your guests an exciting little taster of your day! Or even include a sketch or painting of your venue - a beautiful touch we love to see!

The details

With the date, venue and key players sorted, you can now get creative and start to choose the minutiae of your big day. From your cake to the florist and catering. At Woolverstone Hall we have an in-house wedding management team who have a wealth of industry knowledge and will always be on hand to help with any queries or hurdles you may encounter while planning. Plus we have lists of recommended suppliers and accommodation ideas right here on our website, ready to help you plan your perfect day.
